Spring Equinox 2017

Every year, the Sun enters in Aries and the astrological year begins. The energy available this day sets up the tone for the next 3 months, and in many cultures, people celebrate it with festivals, ceremonies, and rituals. This 2017, we have an interesting cosmic challenge with the moon conjunct Saturn in Sagittarius, the “beneficent planets” Venus and Jupiter both retrograde, and Mars in Taurus -as if it was waiting for Venus to make up her mind. April-July 2017 is a time to…

 Nurture the long-term vision

These last 2 years, Saturn (planet representing backbone and hard work) has been pushing us to earn what we tend to take for granted in the Sagittarius area of our chart, and manifest a broader vision. This is the last year in a long time we have this powerful energy in the cosmos to bring a creative dream into reality. It doesn’t have to be perfect or be ready RIGHT NOW -think of something you’d really like to invest your energy in and nurture for the next 3 years.

The moon (our reactive system) next to Saturn is like a message from the Universe, asking us to stick to the vision. When we have a vision and we want to make it happen, we get a reaction -positive or negative results, maybe both. What if you get some criticism? or rejection? or failure? just stick to the plan. Focus on the vision you know it’s part of a bigger picture.

Work extra hours

The period that goes from the winter solstice (December 22nd) until this point is usually hard. This time, it’s been softened by the influence of Jupiter in Libra, allowing us to access abundance and growth through our relationships. Awesome. We’ve been working with a spectrum of desire since December, and now what we want is revealing the contrast -this project/relationship/goal: how much work is it going to take, is it the right thing for me right now, how does it feel, etc.

Venus rules over relationships, money, and commerce, while Jupiter rules over abundance and expansion. Both are retrograde, meaning their energy is inward. And Mars -that rules over man and for women, it represents the energy we use for work and career issues- is in Taurus, sign ruled by Venus, which is retrograde.

Meaning: this is a cosmic moment to find the abundance and the harmony within, and pour it into what we do and the way we relate to others. Hard work done wholeheartedly will pay off when Jupiter and Venus turn direct.

A detox from romantic myth and external validation

The need for praising, validation, attention might not be easy to meet. I invite you to think about it this way: getting what you want, the way you want it from the other might be pleasurable. Letting go of it… that’s hot. These are the type of issues to be worked with Venus retrograde.

Connecting from lack (I don’t want to be alone) vs. connecting from wholeness. Being able to feel good, regardless of external stimulation and response. Restoring our self-esteem from the core. Unhealthy patterns come up so we can notice them and choose to do it differently this time.

Earn clarity

How could we have clarity about what we want, if there wasn’t any contrast? Contrasting situations show you both the downside of what you’ve chosen and the possibilities available if you are open to shifting your perspective and see the long-term, big picture window of opportunity. Clarity is something we earn:

  • when things don’t go our way, but we don’t hold on to it -we flow
  • in the process of accepting what we want -sometimes peeling off the layers of ego
  • overcoming the tests life throws at us

Wishing you a blessed Equinox,

Dani.
